The Neural Control of Movement (NCM) Lab at the University of St Andrews is currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated post doctoral researcher to work on a project investigating the role of glial cells in spinal motor control circuitry. This project will utilise a combination of cutting edge molecular genetic, electrophysiological, calcium imaging and optogenetic techniques applied to in vitro rodent spinal cord preparations and human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived models. The project will be conducted in collaboration with Dr Stefan Pulver (St Andrews) and Prof Siddharthan Chandran (Edinburgh).

The NCM lab, headed by Dr Gareth Miles, is part of a world class motor control research cluster at St Andrews and a wider Institute of Behavioral and Neural Sciences (IBANS) consisting of more than 60 primary investigators from 5 different Schools. Founded in 1413, the University St Andrews is situated in a picturesque medieval town on the east coast of Scotland between Edinburgh and Dundee.

For informal enquiries please contact Dr Gareth Miles ([email protected]).
